Pros
Free lunch, exceptional discount, diverse clientele, team work among associates.
Cons
I work in the Luxury end of this "business". HMS Host has no idea how to run a high-end retailer with its background in magazines and burgers. The Interview process was a joke; the words "termination" and "fired" were thrown around over 15times during orientation. Its POS, Inventory and Operations systems are beyond antiquated. everything has to be written down and logged just to gather dust. There's no training or compassion towards Sales Associates; they are expected to give high-end service...yet Senior management isn't capable of giving High-end training. Supervisors are forced to work ridiculous hours with little time off, when Seniors pretty much come in when they please. The environment supports the most negative morale; if it were not for the free meals Im sure Internal Theft numbers would sore. HR executives focus more of nepotism than fair reasoning and professionalism. The General Managers need for control supersedes all reasoning, there is very little cooperation from any of them; its literally ran by gorillas. Employee turn over seems to be the norm.
