Pros

1) The flexibility in working from home & PTO requests are rarely declined. 2) Flexible working schedule, and managers who are realistic with work-life balance. 3) Learning opportunities available in terms of being able to shadow other departments and their openness to help you learn anther team's role(s) or function. Everyone here seems to want you to learn about what they do. 4) It is a company where you can 100% be yourself, and the diversity you see will prove that. Want to dye your hair mermaid colors? Do it. Want to come to work wearing vintage t-shirts all day, every day? Do it. The atmosphere is relaxed, productive and not uptight. Your intelligence and potential is not judged by how you look, or what brands you are wearing.

Cons

1) I do wish Healthe supported those trying to attain higher education a bit more, for instance, clearly defined tuition reimbursement program or financial support for attaining advanced certifications. Many newer employees have the feeling that Healthe is more of a "transition company", where it's normal to stay for a while and then leave for something better. More support like this would most likely give employees opportunities for growth that Healthe may not be able to provide internally (i.e. due to lack of opportunities for advancement). 2) Sometimes the word "agile" gets misinterpreted, leading to unclear expectations while executing an initiative or task, as well as a severe lack of organized, documented resources. 3) Sometimes the finger pointing and "that is not my job" mentality, seen on all levels of leadership or peers, can be exhausting and difficult in supporting growth and change. 4) In Ops, it’s common to not have a clue what you are doing for six months to a year. Even if you are not failing per management standards, it’s easy to feel like you are during your earlier months with the company.

Pros

Work from home, schedule, team members I had a good team. Everyone was very helpful when backup was needed to cover case loads. Work life balance was good considering this was a work from home position. Had a set 9-5 schedule.

Cons

Management, lack of promotion opportunities, compensation I do want to start by saying that the company did end up getting rid of the first manager I was under, but the damage had already been done. Completely disorganized and nobody knew what they were doing. A lot of unnecessary work was added to our plates. No real direction on employment growth. You're just kinda stuck in the same position with no signs of moving up in the company unless you're there for 10+ years. Pay is a joke for the amount of work that's expected. I really wanted to love working for this company but I just couldn't do it anymore. I am grateful I made the decision to leave. My physical, mental, and emotion health is so much better than when I worked for this company. I would say this is a good place to gain experience to put on a resume, but don't be hopeful for any life long meaning career.

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We’re so glad (but not surprised) that you found the incredible team members, work-life balance and the ability to work from home to be elements of Healthe that you loved. These are definite contributors to our people voting us a Top Workplace in the US so although we’re not surprised by this, it’s always wonderful to hear it! It is also helpful to hear your perspective on some areas of concern. We have high expectations of our leaders and you didn’t have the experience we expect or require. It is however reassuring to know that the leadership issues you experienced were addressed so others don’t have a similar experience. We realize that talented, driven individuals need opportunities to learn new skills, work with advanced technologies and drive towards their own goals in order to wholeheartedly engage in their work and grow in their careers. This is true for all of us, so we place a lot of emphasis on personal and professional growth at Healthesystems. We strive for each individual to have a Development Plan in place that is actionable and supported by their leader and we have career paths defined and shared across the organization to help people to see opportunities to grow within the organization. Competitive compensation and benefits packages are also key to attracting and retaining talented folks, so each year we evaluate these things very closely and make any adjustments needed to ensure we remain competitive in these areas. Again, thank you for taking the time to share your feedback and for the time you spent contributing to the Healthesystems team.
