Pros

As a patient transporter you will be underpaid, understaffed, and unappreciated for the work that you do. You will be timed per each trip that you do - wheelchair, bed, stretcher and at times connected to lines/oxygen. You will have administration expecting you to perform at certain levels that even Usain Bolt cannot do.

Cons

Pay (started at $12 then was bumped to $13 after a regional pay comparison) At times no breaks Shift disparity - trips were left for the evening shift

Pros

My coworkers. Nursing shared governance. My unit leaders.

Cons

Nursing is not valued here. We do not have a voice at the senior level meaning the building at quail springs. Any time we have a strong nurse leader at corporate they get rid of them. I hear we are being acquired - I am hopeful it’s an organization that understands nurses contributions and that’s why people come to the hospital. We need a union I think because we need a voice.
