Much technology to offer the community. Very specialized care allowing for many learning opportunities. "Family feel" Cardiac hospital inside a full service hospital.
Cons
Very political! Huge divide between Heart Hospital and Med/Surg areas. This creates tension and opportunities for improved communication. The environment extends into the MDs - MS docs don't want theirs in HH beds and the reverse. Heavy management focus on their bonuses with less concern for the average employee. Discrepancy in stating all areas provide "The most challenging healing" yet bonuses and increased pay for a few areas. Understaffed bedsides and heavy administration with huge accountability/expectation on the staff at the bedside. SLOW to make changes or respond to competitive market trends.
