Pros
If you are looking for employment in early childhood education, Kinderberry Hill is simply the best! I joined KBH right out of college as an infant teacher - my dream job! I drove over an hour one way throughout my first year for this job and wouldn’t change it for the world. While working as an infant teacher, I realized that my aspirations were changing and I was quite interested in management. This company took me under their wing and gave me wonderful opportunities. I first stepped out of my comfort zone as an infant teacher to be a Klimber (school aged) teacher one summer and still to this day I feel that was definitely my most memorable summer. I remember being very scared and nervous to take this on, but all of my coworkers were so supportive and encouraging! Eventually with the help and mentorship from my Director and Operations Coordinator, I was able to take on a role at another location as the Operations Coordinator while she was on maternity leave. This led to a later opportunity as the fulltime Operations Coordinator at another location. I have spent an incredible 9 years with this company and am completely amazed by the wonderful culture that each center has and, more importantly, the constant investment in continuous improvement and best practice. Kinderberry Hill is truly #theverybeststart for all of the children entrusted in our care, but I can honestly say it gave me the very best start for my career! If you are looking for a company that values its employees, views them as the professionals they are, and does what is best for children no matter how hard it can sometimes be to overcome obstacles standing in the way, don’t keep looking. You have found your home. 💜
Cons
For the industry the pay is great - no one goes into education to make millions! That being said I believe no one makes enough in early childhood education, but I hope that lawmakers have realized the true value of childcare and invest in making sure the incredible people in this field are being compensated more appropriately.
