Pros
The biggest pro at this company is its transparency. From my experience, unless a question would violates someone's privacy, there is no question that will not receive a direct answer. It helps give me insight into what's going on in with the company big picture and gives me a sense of trust that the exec team is looking out for me.
The company has amazing benefits. Since there are no investors to satisfy, Lose It! can focus on the two things that are most important: its users and its employees. And it shows with the amazing health care plan and the summer retreats to other countries (seriously... no other company does that) and too many other benefits to list here.
The company is growing unlike other startups. With a focused, purpose-driven growth model, we have a controlled growth that allows for new hires to come in and have a more direct impact on the millions of users we are trying to help.
Cons
We did have some growing pains in the company culture as we grew from a small team into the company we have today. We're still working through those issues but I think the exec team has taken major efforts over the past year to eliminate those issues. Some of these issues have been noted in other reviews and I think they are being addressed. As I mentioned in the pros section, one of my favorite things about the company is its transparency. So if you are considering joining Lose It! and any reviews here are giving you pause, please don't dismiss us immediately. I encourage you to speak to us and ask the hard questions because we want to answer them.
