      Pros

      Employees are supportive, hardworking, and genuinely care about helping members. Many people stay because of the strong teamwork among frontline employees and the relationships built with members. The credit union also maintains an overall positive reputation in the community and offers competitive benefits.

      Cons

      The organization has gone through multiple restructures in a relatively short period of time, creating ongoing instability for employees. Roles, priorities, and responsibilities shift frequently, often before previous changes have had time to stabilize.Recent operational changes are expected to shift workload away from the team operating as a cohesive unit, placing additional strain on frontline employees who are already spread thin. Recent changes have also effectively reduced status for certain roles without clearly acknowledging the impact. When changes functionally resemble demotions but are not communicated transparently, it can erode trust and lead to understandable frustration and disengagement among staff. Burnout is becoming more noticeable across teams, especially among experienced employees who are relied upon heavily to keep things running while adapting to constant organizational changes. Employees who have been with the organization long enough to remember how things operated previously can clearly feel the difference in stability and morale. While this review reflects a frontline perspective, similar concerns about workload, morale, and the pace of change are increasingly discussed across multiple areas of the organization. There is also a noticeable gap between leadership messaging and the day-to-day realities of frontline work.

We’re grateful for the supportive teamwork you and other frontline employees continue to provide; those member relationships truly define who we are. We also want to acknowledge the concerns you raised and shifts in responsibilities can be difficult. The pace of organizational change is in response to our members’ needs and the communities we serve. It is our goal for employees and managers to feel supported through these necessary changes. We are also learning valuable lessons and will continue to apply them going forward. Leading change effectively has been prioritized in our leadership development curriculum because we know that our ability to lead is critical to our teams and the credit union’s success. We review employee feedback, including your comments here, which have been shared with HR and other leaders. As an organization, we have made a lot of progress with more come.       Pros

      Working at MSUFCU has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The work is fast-paced, innovative, and always evolving which keeps every day exciting. Leadership is forward thinking and truly invests in employees through AMAZING benefits, education and growth opportunities, and a strong focus on work-life balance. Having an onsite cafe at the headquarters, a workout facility and coworkers who genuinely feel like family make it an even better place to work. I hope to retire from here as it's the best job that I've had.

      Pros

      You will meet some great co-workers and friends, they do generally employ good people.

      Cons

      You will meet wonderful human beings but this company will take advantage of you and their kindness in every single way you can possibly imagine. They do not care about their people, on a simple fundamental level. I went through a very difficult experience here (in short, I was sexually assaulted by a fellow employee at a company event) and they never did a single thing to support me, and instead blamed me for it for a very long time. Years later, I tried to hold them accountable for their part in what happened to me, and instead, they let me go for being “difficult”. Truly, my near 5 year experience at this company was traumatic, and I actively encourage loved ones to not seek MSUFCU out as an employer or lender. I have never trusted a company less. MSUFCU wants you to be a robot, and come in and hit impossible metrics, day in and day out. Have any other experience other than “I love the credit union”, then get out.
