Pros

Working at MSUFCU has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The work is fast-paced, innovative, and always evolving which keeps every day exciting. Leadership is forward thinking and truly invests in employees through AMAZING benefits, education and growth opportunities, and a strong focus on work-life balance. Having an onsite cafe at the headquarters, a workout facility and coworkers who genuinely feel like family make it an even better place to work. I hope to retire from here as it's the best job that I've had.

Cons

fast-paced with new projects all the time

Pros

The health insurance, PTO, and ability to mostly work remote are all great.

Cons

The pay is low, and the company has shifted from truly being a great place to work to becoming the kind of environment that grinds down employees through high workloads with little to no support, unrealistic expectations, and constant issues that impact employees and members. There is such a focus on reaching 10 billion in assets but this is being done by sacrificing everything that once made this place great.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear that our benefits, including health insurance, PTO, and remote work flexibility, have been a positive part of your experience. We’re continuing to invest in helping our leaders effectively navigate and communicate through change, knowing how critical that is to the overall employee experience. When it comes to compensation, we review pay on a regular basis and compare it against market data to help ensure we remain competitive. We also understand that not every role or structure will be the right fit for everyone, and we value candid feedback that highlights where we have opportunities to improve. We appreciate your perspective and encourage ongoing feedback, as it helps us identify areas where we can improve and strengthen both the employee and member experience.

Pros

The benefits-healthcare, PTO...but also a con, see below. They do respect that people have tattoos, piercings etc and look different, and that how they appear doesn't effect how well they do their jobs.

Cons

After 10 years with the employer I needed to be done. We went through so many HUGE changes in those years that it was a constant whiplash of stress. The CU started out okay, they were for their members and I felt like my job made a difference. Now, they are basically a bank, everything is for the sake of growth and 'reaching 10 billion in assets.' The huge job changes that were made were also mostly unannounced, there was no transparency to employees. They also wanted constant feedback about the company, through surveys and such, asking for opinions, but then simultaneously scolded you for ANY negative seeming feedback. While our job duties and titles changed DRASTICALLY from what we were doing, or wanted to do, or applied for, it was shoved into our faces to 'be positive' and 'look at the big picture.' We were also often reminded that the salesy way we were moving was for income for the CU to pay us and keep our healthcare package. That is what alot of it all came down to, was the healthcare dangling over our heads. I 100% appreciate the health coverage, but I also busted my butt for it each day. And let me tell you, the reason that they don't take it away, is because if they did, there would be a MASS EXODEUS. So many long-time employees have quite or retired in the last three years, and the CU doesn't seem to mind-because these new hires make less than the tenured ones.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience and perspective. We appreciate your acknowledgement of our benefits, healthcare coverage, and inclusive culture. Particularly our commitment to allowing employees to be themselves and be judged by the quality of their work rather than appearance. As our organization has grown, our structure, roles, and strategies have evolved to meet regulatory, technological, and competitive demands. We acknowledge that change management and transparency are critical, and feedback like yours helps highlight where communication and clarity can be improved. We appreciate the time and effort you dedicated during your tenure, and we take feedback like this seriously as we reflect on how we can do better moving forward.
