Pros

The health insurance is excellent.

Cons

Upper management, middle management, big on “volun-telling” you into new departments/roles you did not want to go to or ask to be moved to

We appreciate the time you put into highlighting areas you feel we can improve and want to assure you we take the employee experience seriously. To support the growth and vitality of the organization, we have made carefully considered decisions around geographic expansion, organizational structures, and the ways we reach our members. While we have experienced a great deal of growth and change, we aim to stay rooted in our core values. This includes our pursuit of growth and development, encouraging and embracing change, and cultivating an inclusive work environment. These decisions and changes are informed and guided by our service to our members, the needs of our employees, and support our communities. We are sorry to hear about your personal experience in the Call Center. We work hard to build an engaging workplace across the organization and are pleased to share that, according to our annual anonymous employee engagement survey, engagement in the Call Center has increased in the past year, with turnover lagging the industry. We have continued goals and identified action to maintain this positive momentum. We understand the significance of fostering trust and engagement at every level of the organization. As an MSUFCU employee, if you have specific concerns around workplace culture, leadership support, or organizational direction that we can help address, we encourage you to utilize our open-door policy by reaching out to your HR Business Partner, an executive team member, or any member of the HR Leadership team so we can discuss and understand your concerns further.

Pros

Job is secure. Due dates are more like suggestions. Slow pace.

Cons

Low pay for senior and lead positions in IT. Management let some employees get away with doing nothing all day while others get piled on with work. Micromanagement happens from managers on nearly every project. Difficult to focus on any 1 programming language. Management forces employees back and forth on a constant basis.

Extremely Unsupportive Workplace

Pros

You will meet some great co-workers and friends, they do generally employ good people.

Cons

You will meet wonderful human beings but this company will take advantage of you and their kindness in every single way you can possibly imagine. They do not care about their people, on a simple fundamental level. I went through a very difficult experience here (in short, I was sexually assaulted by a fellow employee at a company event) and they never did a single thing to support me, and instead blamed me for it for a very long time. Years later, I tried to hold them accountable for their part in what happened to me, and instead, they let me go for being “difficult”. Truly, my near 5 year experience at this company was traumatic, and I actively encourage loved ones to not seek MSUFCU out as an employer or lender. I have never trusted a company less. MSUFCU wants you to be a robot, and come in and hit impossible metrics, day in and day out. Have any other experience other than “I love the credit union”, then get out.
