Pros

The community and benefits are fantastic. There are so many opportunities to volunteer and encourage others, that you have a very good sense of purpose. Tuition reimbursement was a life saver, and you really feel like your managers care about you as an individual.

Cons

While professional development was encouraged, it often felt very limited. They frequently hire and promote from within, but if you desire to go to a certain department, there isn't always a clear path to that goal. You sometimes need to get in front of the right person to make it known that you are looking to improve your skills or would like a change.

Working at MSUFCU has been an incredibly rewarding experience. The work is fast-paced, innovative, and always evolving which keeps every day exciting. Leadership is forward thinking and truly invests in employees through AMAZING benefits, education and growth opportunities, and a strong focus on work-life balance. Having an onsite cafe at the headquarters, a workout facility and coworkers who genuinely feel like family make it an even better place to work. I hope to retire from here as it's the best job that I've had.

Amazing co workers, great benefits, inclusive workplace for those with disabilities

Cons

You will only have a good experience if you get into specific areas of the credit union. Other places will burn you out and ruin your mental health completely no matter how much you communicate with management. Pay raises are small and it is almost impossible to get a raise outside of the yearly. And getting a promotion is even more difficult.
