Pros
37.5 hour week Sweeping brush skills are greatly appreciated over engineering aptitude
Cons
Shocking Poor Management. The Technical Staff are seen "skill less" drones where there technical ability is judged /rated based on talentless supervisors and managers who are more concerned on how tidy the place looks as opposed to the quality of the Designed solution . The clearest evidence of the uncaring attitude to the "numbers" is that the company will not support an employee in continuing education, they see no value in it hence no interest in employee retention. They skills of the folks building, coding & installing the projects are in high demand by other companies who will poach the best over the coming year. This may suit the managers as they will need to reduce headcount before year end as the demand for projects dries up. But what's really evident now that a "them and us" environment has now developed where trust has completely gone. They (management) decide employees futures behind closed doors in secrecy and the employee will no nothing of it until he/she is informed of what they have decided for them.
