      Pros

      Learn a lot. Really friendly people. Really pick up and run with my suggests (which come thick and fast). Self-organising teams. Engaged and pro-active teams. Lots of really smart people. Moving in a great direction. Very flexible and great work-life balance. Very keen for people to try out different teams. High quality code (I can only speak for the team I've worked in). I work fully remotely, which I really love. But you can work fully in an office, or hybrid (there are offices all over the place, a particularly large amount in the UK). One thing which other people seem very amazed by is the length of paternity leave, it's enhanced by 13 weeks! But I think that shows something of the company. Most important to me is that what we do is so important right now, and we are really are at the edge and pushing hard.

      Cons

      Were a bit behind the times when I started, in terms of CI/CD, Agile etc. But are getting up-to-date really quickly and we're now ahead of the curb I'd say... well my team is. I'd say hiring needs to be dramatically improved. The actual interview process is very much down to the individual team, and I think the team I applied for (and now work for) was pretty good. But it took me ages to find RES, and I was looking in the evenings for months for pretty much this exact job. If you don't think the job description fits, just apply, there's lots of need around the company, and moving about is often offered.

      Pros

      The salary and benefits were appealing to me.

      Cons

      Executive management seemed reptilian and apathetic. RES Services senior management did not acknowledge my existence or work product. I compare the job with RES Services to a rodeo bull ride. I tried to hang on as long as I could but the psychological pain was too extreme and eventually I got thrown off into the dirt.
