Pros
Handled the pandemic well. No shortage of projects to work on. Typical tech company perks and market rate pay (can’t speak to whether this is true in warehouse or customer support). DevOps and IT teams are some of the best I’ve ever worked with.
Cons
Typical mid-sized tech company problems: A lot of reinventing the wheel instead of following what has been done by others before. A LOT of ineffective managers (good engineer does not make a good manager of engineers). Tons of manual processes by various teams because there is no time/resources to re-engineer/automate/scale things. Despite admitting that the future is hybrid, the messaging is coded to mean c level buys the outdated belief of always being in the office. Underperforming employees are just moved around instead of dealt with, especially if they’ve been around for a bit. All the attrition recently isn’t surprising.
