Pros

Not much - Unlimited PTO is nice

Cons

I can't think of enough cons about this place - it's absolute chaos all the time - so disorganized, constantly understaffed. They love to say "no ego" but then when it comes down to asking a senior employee to follow a pretty basic procedure, upper management will tell you that employee gets special treatment. Pay is mediocre and they refuse to hire extra people to help with the workload. They're investing insane amounts of money in new buildings and vanity management positions but don't compensate their workers fairly for the amount of time and stress they put in. They're used to hiring eager kids right out of college and paying them next to nothing to work long hours for the experience, but now that they are a large company hiring more senior employees in roles, it's clear that they don't know how to work with more experienced employees. Upper management is so detached from the regular workforce. They grew way too fast and didn't hire enough day-to-day positions to keep up with the rapidly increasing business. they put on a good show and advertise things like hybrid remote work, flexible hours and unlimited PTO but in reality people are working extremely long hours just to keep up and management comes down on staff for not getting stuff done even when folks are working constantly. Turnover is so high because people just can't keep putting up with the chaos and long hours. This is a truly terrible place to work, a wolf in sheep's clothing. I do not recommend working here. Run far away.

SimpliSafe Response

Thank you for taking the time to write this review. I’m sorry that you felt this way while working with us. As you mentioned, SimpliSafe is growing - not just our business, but also our team. We’ve experienced double-digit growth in our team in the past few years. It’s important to us that our teams are well-staffed and able to deliver on our mission. Of course, growing and adding new employees isn’t without its growing pains, which is why we continue to invest in enhancing our onboarding process, manager training and technology resources to set all SimpliSafers up for success. We absolutely encourage people to take time away - both using our PTO benefits (unlimited for salaried positions) and through “recharge” days throughout the year. If any of our employees don't feel supported in doing so, this is a problem - and I encourage them to talk to their manager and contact the People Team or me so we can address it. Finally, I want to address your comments about our compensation. We’re proud to offer "total rewards" packages made up of both cash compensation and benefits that are actively benchmarked so that we can be competitive, if not above, the market. While I wish we could’ve connected on your points of view while you were still at SimpliSafe, I appreciate you sharing the feedback. --Ai-Li Lim

Pros

Great teammates, very collaborative. It’s clear everyone here believes in the mission. Competitive salary

Cons

New leadership is rudderless. Flailing and constantly making changes to leaders. No more long term incentive plan for managers and lower. It feels like they’ve been figuring out things as they go since the acquisition by GTCR. Low opportunity for advancement.
