Pros

Cons

This WAS one of the best companies I have worked for. WAS. Things drastically changed when the US Managment realised the UK projected losses exceeded the current value of thir share in the UK market. Management continously advised staff this was normal for a start up company.. except, Simplisafe is not a start up, it is in fact a very established company in the US. The US then directed their attention to cutting losses rather than refocusing their approach to a new market they have no real foothold in compered to Ring, Yell, ADT or Verisure. Customers where not impressed by poor quality equipment which constantly fails. Staff where sick of not being listen to and serious suggestions being ignored . Managment where sick of constantly having to objection handle their off staff. Rather than the company reflect on what they are doing wrong in the grand scheme of things, they put it on staff to deal with ongoing issues beyond their expertise and quite frankly, salary. Staff worked across Customer Service, Retentions, Sales and technical support for as little as £21,600 Personally, I've never know a company to bend over so much for a customer, yet pay their staff a shockingly low salary for such high expectations of their responsibilities. The final nail in the coffin for a lot off staff, was the external promotion of 3 managers with loyal staff of 2/3 being completely overlooked. I witness just under 10 resignation in my final 2 months, and hear there is more to come. This is a company that is trying to be something it is not, no matter how hard they try, they are evolving into a toxic workplace and many of us left at the right time.

Thank you for providing your feedback. I would like to address some of the points you have raised, as they are things we take very seriously. First, Simplisafe was created in the US in 2006 and then launched in the UK in 2019. SimpliSafe UK has seen significant growth since its launch and is already one of the leading businesses in the market for customers who want DIY installation and professional monitoring. SimpliSafe remains committed to the UK market. We take pride in ensuring employees are happy in their role. We use engagement surveys to give us a good understanding of what they feel is working well and what they feel could be improved, ensuring employees’ feedback is incorporated and the standard of culture that has been implemented since the business launched is upheld. We also hold monthly meetings with the whole UK team and hold team events throughout the year for team building and team bonding. Additionally, there have been quite a few internal promotions within the UK in the last couple of years as the business has grown, and the structure has also changed, making other new roles available. As the business has grown, we have needed to recruit externally to augment our current team. This has enabled us to introduce new capabilities and build a more diverse workforce. Last, we are very committed to having competitive wages and other benefits for employees - and we review and increase eligible employees’ salaries at least once a year.

Pros

Great teammates, very collaborative. It’s clear everyone here believes in the mission. Competitive salary

Cons

New leadership is rudderless. Flailing and constantly making changes to leaders. No more long term incentive plan for managers and lower. It feels like they’ve been figuring out things as they go since the acquisition by GTCR. Low opportunity for advancement.
