Pros

M-F work schedule. Interesting business to learn, as it is a different type of retail sales than one may be used to. Good work/life balance. I did not feel the need to work after hours, or on weekends; nor was I ever asked to.

Cons

Poor management throughout location, mean spirited and often rude/abrasive. Non existent comradery within staff/coworkers. Training was put in the hands of a "point person", that proved to be incapable of training anyone; as this person was consistently offering misguided "help", and incorrect information.

Hello I'm so sorry to hear that you did not have a good experience working at STARK. We have learned that someone's local experiences with their team and manager are more impactful on their experience than anything else. This learning helped us prioritize more Team Building activities and Leadership Training for managers in all departments around the country. In regards to sales training, i'm sorry that you did not feel this training was as effective as it could have been. Improving sales training is something we have been trying to figure out for the last few years based on the feedback from our anonymous employee surveying, which is a vital tool that we use when determining our most important projects. Now, with a few dedicated, empowered sales managers focusing on our training program, we're more confident than ever that we have a good plan to address this feedback. Building a world-class training program is no easy feat so i am staying personally involved through 2021 to ensure we keep moving in the right direction. If there is anything else you'd like to discuss please feel free to email me directly at cstark@starkcarpet.com Chad Stark, CEO

Pros

Stark has a good reputation within the industry, so most designers will engage... not incredibly hard to get appointments

Cons

The prospecting process is fundamentally broken. While there is a CRM in place, it’s rarely used properly. The showroom manager seldom updates account assignments, and account managers rarely log emails, calls, or meaningful activity. As a result, when someone uncovers an account that hasn’t been touched in years and successfully re-engages the client, another rep can easily claim they’ve been actively managing the relationship all along. The current system disproportionately benefits long-term employees while also reducing the need for management oversight and accountability leadership.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. I appreciate your recognition of Stark’s reputation within the industry and the relationships our teams have built over the years. I also take your concerns regarding CRM usage, account ownership, and accountability seriously, as a transparent and consistent prospecting process is important to both fairness and client service. We recognize there are opportunities to improve how account activity is tracked and managed, and we are actively working to strengthen accountability and operational consistency across the organization. As an active employee, I’d also encourage you to continue sharing your perspective directly with myself, your manager or leadership team so we can better address these concerns constructively. Thank you again for your honest feedback and for being part of Stark. Best, Chad Stark CEO
