Pros

I worked with some nice people.

Cons

I worked for Stark Carpet for over 20 years. They threw me out into the street . On my "exit interview", I asked the HR guy if he liked his job. He had the nerve to tell me he loved it. Then he told me to leave and "say goodbye to nobody-we will walk you to the door!" I was not the only one they threw out like trash.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and more importantly, thank you for your 20+ years of dedicated work at STARK Carpet. I appreciate the effort you put in -- our loyal employees are part of what makes this company so great. I sincerely apologize for the incident you described. While this is not consistent with how we handle these situations, it is very concerning and I would like to get more information so I can follow up and address this matter properly. Please feel free to reach out to me directly: cstark@starkcarpet.com. Best, Chad Stark

Pros

Having worked more than 30 years at Stark, few people could offer more comprehensive long term observations interacting with three generations of family members running the company than I could. While the management style has changed with the times, the basic thinking, treatment of employees and company goals has remained very much the same. The company has usually been more than fair and offered nearly unlimited opportunity. Work hard, be a dedicated employee and both you and the company will benefit. Interact well with the other employees, and the design community and you will excel.

Cons

In recent years there has been tremendous emphasis on youth rather than experience. Creative methods have been utilized to either cause older experienced employees to leave either voluntarily due to frustration or be nearly forced out. I was actually told not to hire a person that was 40 years old because " we want younger people".

Pros

Right now I don't think I have a pro I just wish people could be more trustworthy in the people they work with so they could see the how strong a place to work could be . and maybe managers need to treat every one the same if only a couple of people always get overtime and only the same ones that is an insult to a department as a whole that you manager does not have confidence in your ability to do a good job.that does not help motivate your people

Cons

There is no trust between general floor workers and management. Not being honest seems to be how you move up or get any acknowledgement from your mangers not all but some . A lot of hard working people have lost there jobs from just people in higher levels not wanting accept there part of back stabbing favoritism that caused employees motivation to just shut down because if you work hard and love your job but always feel like your are being set up to fail.only because knowledge is power
