Pros

There is hands on training. They are supportive of individuals who have visible physical limitations/disabilities.

Cons

If you are hired on as a temp (even though you applied through the company website) you are forced to visit a Ryan Staffing agency and reapply through them. This allows Summit to pay you less money than you would earn if they didn't use a middle man. They do not allow anyone to work part time even if you provide them with a medical excuse. They will "accept" it, cut your hours & then let you go. Summit discriminates against individuals with mental & physical disabilities that are not visible to the public eye. Instead of giving employees a living wage, they spend thousands on free lunches every Sunday & once a month. Their computer programs are so out of date that it makes ordering by phone or online extremely frustrating for both the customer & employees. One of the most annoying things about this company is how unusually invasive they are. You cannot even use the bathroom without filing out paperwork, they will post your employee picture on a state wide company roster without your consent and they listen in on your conversations at all times. They can hear what you're saying over your headset even when you are not speaking with a customer & will punish you for having your own opinion. Summit Racing also pushes their personal political(you are never allowed to watch anything in the break room other than Fox Eight News) & religious beliefs( clearly seen in their dress code) on employees.

Pros

Good benefits generally, pay is decent, generally nice coworkers, lots of flexibility normally.

Cons

Target pet project of any upper management becomes law. Large amount of policy grey areas get overlooked resulting in alot of workers slacking to look good on paper, But if someone high up goes 'I'd like us to improve this metric or do this program then you'll be fired in a minute if you make your supervisor look bad in that area. Spent 75% of my time fixing other people's half work to completion and excellent reviews just to be let go for not meeting a quota on socializing with co-workers because 'they want us to feel like a family'. Health insurance only covers generic medical issues and requires hoops for approval for anything outside of annual physicals and seasonal viruses. No mental health coverage outside of addiction counseling (which if they find out you need then they fire you per policy) and a 1800 to talk to a random counselor that only specializes in work stress. Pushed to use insurance's Tele-doc for anything.
