Pros

• Easy to learn the process of making smoothies • Relaxed environment • Decent pay on top of tips • Flexible with hours

Cons

• Not many customers come in - You will be cleaning more than making smoothies • The customers that do come in are exhausting to work with. A lot of them are "health nuts" or they act as if they're better than you. • Very clique-y. Employees there have known eachother for a very long time. Managers are close friends. You will have a hard time getting into their group, especially if you don't "fit the mold." Special privileges are given to those within their friend group (free smoothies/food, sitting on the job, talking on the phone nonstop, having an attitude with customers without punishment) • !!!! Horrendous communication. New employees are left in the dark if they are doing things wrong. I'd been fired only after working there for less than a month because NOBODY had informed me that I wasn't working to their standard (keep in mind that my training was NOT finished), even while working with my boss, and they DO NOT have a warning system. I'd only learned what I'd been doing wrong once I'd been fired through a text.

Pros

Hired me while under 16, gained a lot of experience, amazing crew, and flexible schedule.

Cons

Often had to go in early, but wasn't too bad for me because I am a morning person.

Pros

Basically all the employees are super nice and it’s a super chill environment and if you brought a friend to get hired also it was a lot more fun

Cons

The management is atrociously bad , like it’s ridiculous how badly managed the store I worked at was; our managers were super super nice as people and were pretty understanding if you worked while being in school but like nothing was ever organized and the owner literally took forever to supply us with things if we ever ran out (like pens, markers, brooms, etc). No one was ever put into the system right away so you had to keep track of your hours on your own for the first couple weeks and when you were finally put into the system you literally would have to constantly ask the owner to put your hours in for payroll to get paid for those weeks. Basically the only way to get hired is if you already know someone who works there which can honestly go either way. There was always someone quitting which would completely ruin the schedule and make us constantly short staffed which was terrible to work through; working when corporate came was absolutely horrific and our owner never ever kept his promises to reward us when we did well after corporate visits. The only reason I don’t give Tropical a one star is because everyone I worked with was super nice and funny. Being a shift lead was a ridiculous amount of work for only a dollar per hour extra and we never ever got raises outside of the minimum wage in the city being raised.
