Competitive pay for Registered Behavior Technician
Cons
Seems like they are always short staffed and the initial training doesn’t teach much. Supervisors try to train but that is after you are already with a client.
Poor communication. Poor training for new hires. Poor technician in-home support provided by supervisors and management. Case supervisor replaces technicians who do not perform well, rather than provide effective training and/or support. Case supervisor and management provide poor communication to client family.
Very stressful environment due to being extremely short staffed. The management did not prioritize hiring and training new staff especially leadership. In my class alone 2 students were supposed to have 1 on 1 staff members but they never got one for 90% of the school year. They also demoted managers when they came back from maternity leave and turned 4 leadership positions into 1. This meant that there was little to no support for teachers in the classroom.
