Pros

The people are very dedicated to supporting as much as possible. However, they do not have leadership at the company. The new building, but not sure how long they will be able to financially keep it running, is nice but lacks function. Your coworkers and team will help keep you sain, however, the Cheifs have little ability to run a company. You will have to fight for process improvement or progress with people who "believe" they know more than you (even though you were brought in as the subject matter expert). They will let anyone try a new position. This normally is great, however, with little to no training/support the becomes impossible to be successful.

Cons

The short time when I was a Director at Empower, was a crazy ride full of growing concern for my job starting on day one! When I was hired, Empower stated the position was open because they were "Growing so Fast". Unfortunately, this really meant they were doing many many layoffs and/or were cycling through a significant number of employees that gave up on the company recovering. The company got an FDA Warning letter (which is public information) and they were not able to get the revenue back from losing the main product. The business is not recession-proof at all, which likely triggered their 3rd and 4th layoff in under 6 months. The average time for employees is about 6 months at Empower. They also lack any communication on the layoffs or how the company is doing. You just walk into work and hear they laid off more people without leadership conversations with the remaining employees. While I was there I saw the entire HR team leave, with management begging one person to stay. Account and Finance team members walk out, and management begs one Finance person to stay. Supply Chain is in shambles after a round of layoffs took its Director away. The Quality department can't keep a Director because the Chief won't support improvement. From personal experience, this is not the company you should invest your time or energy. Without significant improvements and changes (Including clearing house on all C-Suites and the Owner), the company will continue the downward spiral.

Pay your sales team

Pros

Close-knit sales team - everyone in sales looks after one and another

Cons

C-level executives have said, "Paying the sales staff is not a priority." Quarterly commissions are never paid on time (generally 3-6 months late). Comp plan states commissions are "uncapped," but will go behind your back and limit your payout. Our revenue data is completely unorganized, and it is impossible to calculate territory rev; so you have to blindly accept what is given to you although it is more than likely inaccurate. Half of our products have been out of stock for a year with no end in sight. There is only a small percentage of employees that last longer than 2 years. It is very common to see employees quit within 6 months.
