Pros

Opportunities to work in any major city in the country are usually available. In regards to the audio visual industry, PSAV does have a strong foothold and presence above any other company. Job stability is usually strong. The events industry provides the opportunity to work with a wide array of people and a wide array of events.

Cons

Most offices might not be given the full tools to properly run a business. Employees are sometimes forced to work in extremely close quarters and in make-shift offices (closets). PSAV is a sales driven company. Although, every offices must deal with active sales processes with hotel clients or outside clients, there is no current CRM system in place to assist employees. Two CRM tools have been rolled out and then withdrawn. There has been no CRM in place in over two years and at this current time there is not a plan in place to supply one. There is a large discrepancy of professional and educational training of employees at all levels. While many newer employees enter PSAV with a college degree, they attend many training sessions at the corporate office centered around management skills, customer service, technical training, etc. On the other hand, employees that have been with the company for many years, have worked their way up from technician with no college education, have never attended any corporate training. Not only does this seem like an unwise business decision, as all employees benefit from this type of training, but it also creates an aggressive divide in smaller offices among aforementioned employees. While there are opportunities for advancement, a ceiling is hit for quickly advancing employees. Once a certain threshold has been reached, employees are forced to make lateral moves while waiting for a very limited number of positions for advancement. Salary caps are often put in place giving little incentive to make those lateral moves and complacency sets in.
