Pros

Some of the people who work at Engrain are truly fantastic. The teams I worked on were empathetic, problem solving, and truly a pleasure to work with. The office is really nice, even though it is in DTC.

Cons

While the ground-level employees at Engrain are great, the C-Suite executives at the company are extremely out of touch with what is going on at the company and are pushing a huge "Work Harder not Smarter" culture. Over the past year, our CEO has explicitly said that he does not care about anything but exponential growth. Leadership has started to push employees to skip lunch and work unpaid overtime without any compensation increases or considerations for mental health. It is understandable that Engrain is going through a period of intense growth, but you have to make your employees feel valued if you want to keep them. Even when team members suggest improvements in process or software solutions, these are hardly ever approved because the CEO just wants people to work harder and stop complaining. Another issue with Engrain is that some teams have developed an extremely toxic culture, and leaders are rewarded for treating people badly. Team leads that have been at the company a long time are rewarded for extremely aggressive, demanding behavior.

Pros

This is a company where "the only constant is change". Some people thrive in that environment and some people don't. I personally enjoyed it and found it exciting, challenging, with some ups and downs in workload. I feel that while there are some valid critiques in the previous reviews, most of the negative things said about this company stem from the person and the environment not being the right fit. - Leadership's navigation through covid was very impressive. - Leadership genuinely cares about employees. - Engrain has recently brought in some impressive talent that is helping to rapidly grow the company. - Amazing people all-around - No micro-managing - Great benefits

Cons

- Compensation could be better - Office is in flux right now with people coming back but they are about to expand their office which will be better - Certain roles have less room to grow but you make it what you want honestly

Pros

Ownership - you can come in and own the projects you are working on. Autonomy - there is no micro-managing. People - they're great.

Cons

Communication - We're all moving so fast that sometimes communication can falter.
