Pros

- The technical work is pretty easy to pick up. - What they do is simple to learn and do. - The work-life balance is good.

Cons

- Not a good environment to work, Kind of toxic. - Not great for especially non-white folks to grow. - Not an honest place; you gotta play politics. - Really depends on your manager, but I had a bad time. - If you care on what you do, in this industry, they targets poor people to make money off them with very high-interest rates, which doesn't feel good, but it depends on your personality. - After I left, I got a job with double the salary and a much better vibe. - Salaries are kind of the lowest in the industry, Especially if you are a recent grad. - Only take the job if you have no other options, especially if you're not white. Also, if you don't care about the impact of your work on the world around you and how you make your money.

Terrible place to work

Pros

Summer hours and free snacks.

Cons

If you like being micromanaged, belittled, and talked down to work here. Since the beginning of my employment here it was a constant battle, I worked on a subset of the marketing team and was constantly treated unfairly and in a negative manner. I do believe my boss had a bias towards men and would treat me differently than any other members of the team. My manager would constantly make negative remarks about my work, would only speak to me to reprimand me, and consistently set me up to fail. I was given less time to work on projects then other members of the team and a heavier work load, when I would ask for prioritization of projects, or an extended timeline I was told I was "complaining about a heavy work load". This led to me constantly working extra hours and having to keep quite about it. Despite attempts to work through every project and connect with my managers, I was constantly criticized. I was told on multiple occasions that my manager "didn't trust me", and that I was "underperforming", all while taking on projects more senior members of the team couldn't get to. I was the first person outside of a manager in years to design the company's annual report. Was still given a "underperforming score" on my work. My manager even referred to a project I worked on as "insane". Which had no precedent and required them to re-do it, and extend the timeline to double it's initial outlook. I was constantly compared to the designer above me. Who had been at the company 8 years, and was their only workplace. I was expected to have the brand knowledge of someone who's career had been on the entirely same products for it's entirety. Favoritism is out of control. Managers have their go to employees who get rewarded and are always being recognized. The team is structured in long term employees of 5+ years, and then high turn over rolls. The divide is obvious but refuted by management. Lastly I received an inaccurate review here. My year end review was scheduled for EOD on the last day possible to deliver it. The review was a literal copy and paste of a 360 employee eval from 6 months prior. Both of my managers got on the call and opened it with saying "we know this is inaccurate, but there's nothing we can do to change it", "we know you've changed so much but it was too late to give you a better review". I was told I would have to wait until mid-year to receive an accurate and new review. The crowning gem of the review being told by both mangers that I "No longer needed to look for a new position, and now they finally thought I was a good fit". After which they ended the call by saying and this is a direct quote "are we cool?" I've worked at 5 other companies in my almost decade of experience. Dealt with all sorts of managers and employees. Never have I worked at such an unprofessional and disrespectful environment. I know there are just places and people that don't mesh, but I've never been treated so poorly in a "professional" environment. I also went to hr twice about issues I was having here, and was told to either figure it out or kick rocks. If you are in dire need of employment, work here.
