Pros

Quick promotions to keep you encouraged. You’ll learn basics of a business (which can 100% be done elsewhere). Pay can be good once you get commission, but it ought to be for how much time you invested. Usually really great people to work with.

Cons

You’ll basically have no life working these hours (60-70 hour weeks). They tell you you’re salaried, but you’re actually hourly and you just have to work overtime every week to meet that number. Rarely any breaks. You are working in dress clothes while cleaning hundreds of rental cars, & dealing with incredibly abusive customers on a daily basis. Vacation was never approved. You’ll be set up for failure by the company when they let customers book cars you dont have and you have to call everyone and tell them that. A truly awful work environment that they paint as a culture of hard work and growth.

Pros

They have a good rep. Some companies may see it on your resume and it may help in looking for a better job

Cons

I left enterprise over a year ago but now hearing about the layoffs, I feel compelled to share my experiences. The company prices themselves on their values, but it’s essentially a pyramid scheme company in the guise of a “hard working family owned” rental company. After months of rigorous training, you come out working 50-60 hour weeks in an understaffed branch, wearing full business attire while you go pick up other people’s garbage from the back of a car, get berated by customers because you have 50% of the help you need in the branch, and all mistakes or issues will come down on your head. Assistant managers make commission but take a pay cut when promoted, effectively making less money than new hires for a couple months (or more if going against numbers that just can’t be beaten) The managers lose money when cars are damaged and no one notices for a couple weeks. Or you better hope no one comes in at night and smashes a car up, then you won’t see a bonus check for ages. The “sales process” is dishonest. They’ll put you through the ringer of selling “honestly” but expect you to utilize every dishonest tactic you can to convince people to buy coverage, gas, etc., because if you don’t you’ll never be promoted and eventually fired. It is such a toxic company. I would never recommend this place to anyone, and it makes me absolutely furious that they’ve laid off so many people during this difficult time. Shame on you enterprise. Do better

Pros

Coworkers are like family.

Cons

Long hours. 11 hour days. No work life balance. Some branches even work Sunday’s. Company only cares about profits. Limited opportunities for advancement due to the matrix requirements. You are literally a slave to enterprise. Be prepared to be treated like crap by customers over things that are out of your control. The company passes on expenses to branch managers which then cuts into their commission. If a customer is dissatisfied the branch will end up paying for everything. Customers can literally steal cars and we are still expected to provide good customer service. They make you go through a program chat is suppose to make you a good manager, but it’s nothing other then busy work.
