Pros

The company's goals (provide good customer service, improve health care) are easy to get behind; they're generally acknowledged as the best in the health IT field; the pay is competitive; the atmosphere is casual; they seem to (or at least intend to) hire based on ability rather than quantity of resume buzzwords

Cons

You aren't likely to acquire trendy skills while working here - though some people do do web/mobile development; depending on your team (and/or customer, if you're in a customer-facing role), you might work long hours (I don't, and that obviously affects the rating I'm giving); the company has a rather controversial reputation, due to a number of rather outspoken former employees and competitors, and you'll frequently be asked about your job

Pros

Work with self motivated people, a great place to start your career

Cons

Madison Wisconsin. It's a huge place with so much areas and information floating around. It is hard to find a niche. Some of the people on projects are mostly young and inexperienced in project and people management.

Pros

Epic is above average in many areas, particularly benefits. The sabbatical is a nice reward for staying 5 years, health insurance is highly subsidized for employees and the unique campus is beautiful, not to mention the ample locations to get food and beverages, which are also subsidized.

Cons

Epic pushes people, and for the most part, it's not in a good way. There are some who do well and advance very quickly, loving the job. However, most people work long hours for 2-3 years and then burn out and leave. It is a high-stress, very competitive atmosphere. Some can figure out how to make that work long term, but most can't.
