Challenging but ultimately rewarding company to work for

Pros

The pay is very good, the healthcare plans are astounding, the vacation time is decent and the offices are very nice. The food is great, too. I majored in MechE and glad I took this job. Ultimately the selling point is being in a very intense work environment that will force you to develop a lot of skills ranging from technical aptitude to time and relationship management. You have a lot of room to grow and a lot of flexibility in what you do. If you like the core responsibilities, which plenty do, you can have a very high impact on how healthcare organizations operate. Your coworkers are very competent and easy to work with.

Cons

The work is fairly grueling, although how much pressure you’re under depends on the role (I’m TS and it’s reasonable imo). You’ll be working 45 hours a week minimum and oftentimes more. Although you’ve got a lot of flexibility, you’ll still have a majority of your time spent doing core work duties and following a lot of processes. If I quit, it’ll be because of the workload. This job isn’t for everybody, and plenty leave after a couple years because they don’t like the work or they’re tired of the pace. Most of those people are in a much better position after having worked here because they grew their skill sets significantly and are qualified for far more challenging roles than they were out of college.

Pros

The people are great, interesting, and so helpful The campus makes it easy to focus The pay is pretty good The cafeteria options delicious and accessible

Cons

It’s easy to take on more work than you can handle in a regular 40 hour week You don’t really have a team structure until you move up into management
