Pros

There are a lot of other fresh/new grads - the first couple of months are likely to be "College 2.0" where you have a lot of free time and minimal work to do since you are still training. A pro is since everyone is quitting, atleast you'll have job security since they're trying to hold onto anyone they can!!! (but your mental health will 100% suffer)

Cons

All your friends will quit sooner than later - retention sucks, job sucks. Fish eats fish world - barely any WFH. Imagine this - Epic, leading EMR company, has possibly the WORST COVID response I have seen. WFH (during peak COVID) only after insane pushback, but you can still only WFH from the Madison area??? They are living in lalaland up there.

Pros

The money is decent (getting worse tho)

Cons

Ignore the very brief, positive reviews! Most are by very new employees who basically haven’t been around long enough to know the company yet. It takes a few months or a couple years to see the full picture. They’re masterful gas lighters. Dysfunctional leadership cabal, surrounded by yes-man middle managers. Seriously, a group of like 4-6 people 60 yo and older micromanage every bit of the company. And they’re hopelessly behind the times. Listen to Judy talk at staff meeting. It’s basically incomprehensible. I tell people it’s like if a 10,000 person company gave my 95 year old grandma a microphone and a stage to speak her mind. Really bizarre. Zero work life balance. They will exploit you and gas light you endlessly. You are a cog in the machine to them, no matter the accolades or work you do. Don’t take my word for it tho, the details are public domain. They tried to force employees back to the office in 2020 during the pandemic. Middle managers who didn’t take up the cause were fired. Backlash went national. Watch CBSNews Morning Report “Employees Raise Safety Concerns with Return to Work Plans” Most managers left now are the ones who didn’t question the insanity, keep that in mind. They include clauses in contracts to prevent you from taking them to court over wage theft - search Epic Systems Corp v. Lewis. It went to the Supreme Court. Their resistance to diversity at the company — see “Leaked recording of Epic president reinforces employees’ doubts about commitment to diversity” on Madison.com. It’s a sinking ship. GET OUT!

Pros

-The food was absolutely amazing. Better than restaurant quality. -The campus was beautiful and pristine, truly one of a kind.

Cons

The absolute worst job I've ever had. It is hard to even find a single redeeming quality . Please don't take a job at Epic even if it's your first job out of college. The rest of the working world doesn't operate like Epic at all. -Pay was NOT commensurate with the number of hours that were expected -Ranking culture creates an environment where no one wants to help each other -Zero direct communication, everything is done behind people's backs -Employees are encouraged to say negative things about other employees and provide negative feedback constantly -Vacation and healthcare benefits are not on par with similar companies -Non-compete tries to trap you at Epic by making it near impossible to get a job in the healthcare industry -Meeting heavy culture with 7+ hours of meetings per day
