Do bother staying too long

Pros

Good insurance, good coworkers if you are lucky. Decent pay for the area. Good springboard if you are eyeing big tech.

Cons

Equity is paltry, so poor overall compensation compared to any other big tech firms. Outdated and potentially proprietary tech stack (depending on what you are working on) that can be difficult to market if you do decide to leave. Work life balance is a myth that happens to other people.

Up to your managers

Pros

You can go from knowing basically nothing about PM to being a valuable employee somewhere else.

Cons

I worked hard here 50 hours a week and got no recognition other than "be more efficient". I heard the words from my team lead: "Epic will always assign you more work than we think you can finish," Basically you're always drowning and can never catch up. Until you can become an App Manager after about 1.5 years, then you can delegate all your work. I did a lot just to receive poor feedback, where others just took notes and scheduled meetings and got a 5k higher raise than me. Little bit of a popularity contest, and the first time I'd been involved in drama since high school. Just get in close with your leads and glaze them and you'll get a good raise.
