Pros

Company is respected in the field of Life sciences. Benefits are average to slightly below. Work schedules are somewhat flexible. Engineering encourages continued training and education. May be a good place to work with those with chemical, or bio-science degrees. Decision making is worse than watching the US Congress, and is frequently reversed.

Cons

Company has little understanding of modern product design, and methods are antiquated. There is very little technical leadership. Mechanical and electrical engineers are encouraged to design by trial and error, rather than employ good engineering principles. A culture of fear is evident in management ranks. If you are not German, then standards are very different. Nationalism is very evident in how work is assigned, and what ideas are accepted. Software engineers may like the environment since creativity in that area is encouraged.
