This is my honest opinion after working at Eppendorf for many many years. There is no grudge held against them, just shedding a little light to those who may find any openings within this company..
Lack of growth. Was a senior employee, was blocked 3 separate times to promote within my department when I had plenty of accolades to be considered without question. When I put in for another promotion outside but still relevant to my field of study / degree, I was blocked again without any insight as to why.
Upon sending out my resignation letter, upper management snuck around and shared my email to others not included on the email instead of inquiring the reason to leaving to me directly. High School rumor mill type stuff. Along that topic, after leaving on my final day, management decided to show face and come and try to act like they cared, found out I already left and left all company property on my desk, and dragged my name through the mud to everyone still employed (Found out via 2 former coworkers that attended meetings where my name was mentioned). No exit interview or anything. Radio silent for 10 business days until the final day long after I exited the building.
Upon starting my new position at another company, did a little search to see how their vastly growing vacancies were going. They had my position, or the title I used to hold, was upgraded to another title that I was not paid for but did the work described within the post for the new position. Had all the accolades I held as a requirement for the new position..
And lastly, the favoritism here is astounding. I worked with another employee who, at best, had minimum inspection experience. No GD&T experience when almost every drawing had GD&T call outs. The gentleman had little to no experience with converting decimals, using basic inspection equipment, let alone took the vetting test we all took to ensure we knew how to be a quality inspector. He then made his way into being able to do his university homework on company time, while myself and the other inspector took the bulk load of the increasing backlog of inspection material. Was brought to our manager, who approved of him doing work outside of company related material / on break time, to her boss.. nothing changed. The list grew longer and longer, and our overtime increased more and more, to which he was able to weasel his way out of but we had to abide by it as it was "mandatory"
All in all, keep your options open when considering Eppendorf. The pay is minimal, and trying to find your way to a decent compensation is almost a fight in itself without presenting yourself as a reliable and competent employee. "We love to promote from within" is said, but never followed through on. They went about removing 3 senior people in the warehouse, to make room for 1 role via someone with no experience what so ever of their intricate warehouse system and software, in which the 3 seniors had vast knowledge of. They love to boast a plentiful and rewarding work environment, however if you don't know someone on the board, or aren't "involved" with someone in upper management, do not expect to move upward here. Expect to work yourself thin, and when a problem arises, do not expect management or HR to do anything about it but sweep it under the rug.
At best, use this place as an experience builder to further yourself at a better and more promising company. Rely on Eppendorf to show you the dos and the do nots in manufacturing / processes and with the ample amount of education and experience, find yourself a better place to call home and collect a paycheck from. This place is not a forever home via my experience and frustration.
