Pros

They offered good benefits and a decent amount of time off.

Cons

Management, or lack thereof, did not value residents and prioritized profits. I noticed a big difference in how management encouraged staff to treat residents of market rate apartments vs subsidized/low income apartments. Could not ethically stay with a company that has this type of culture.

Pros

Listens to employee feedback through Engagement surveys, townhalls, corporate huddles, onsite huddles, employee taskforce groups and then creates change as a result. Growth opportunities locally and nationally! We have growing expansion markets. Strong DEI team that promotes inclusive behaviors and creates webinars, panels and content for us to explore and grow as a team.

Cons

This is a fast paced, high volume industry. If you prefer a more predictable slower pace in the workplace, multifamily onsite roles may not be for you. However we do have corporate positions that offer remote and other department roles.

Thank you for sharing your thoughtful review and for being such a dedicated part of Equity Residential for over 20 years! We’re thrilled to hear that you value the ways we listen and act on employee feedback—it’s a cornerstone of our culture to ensure everyone feels heard and empowered to grow. Your recognition of our DEI efforts and the opportunities we offer both locally and nationally truly highlights what we strive to achieve as an organization. We also appreciate your candid insights about the fast-paced nature of multifamily onsite roles. It’s true that these positions can be dynamic and high-energy, and we’re glad you mentioned the variety of opportunities we have, including remote and corporate roles, to fit different preferences and work styles. Thank you for your leadership and the impact you’ve had on our team and communities. We’re lucky to have you on this journey with us!
