It's a job.

Pros

There are many different ways to work as an RN within the Erlanger Health System, so it offers lots of different positions and shifts.

Cons

Management rarely shares important matters with employees; we often read about things in the newspaper first. Zero dollars available for education, no physician order entry and some management positions left open for years.

Pros

Flexibility and understanding if you have to take off for family, doctor's appt's etc.

Cons

Executive Management uses employee benefits as their emergency fund when financial trouble comes their way or they fear it can be seen on the horizon. Freezing vacation time, inflated insurance premiums that continue to rise every year, taking away employee discounts for any and all medical services we utilize while raising copays substantially each year. Forcing employees to use Erlanger Only services and physicians for healthcare needs. It can take months to get in to see a physician or have tests that a physician will insist is medically necessary. Physicians seem to expect employees to be overly understanding when optimal patient care is not what we receive is some cases. Employees are expected to display 100% loyalty to the brand of Erlanger when they are shown a tremendous amount of disloyalty in return. A 3% raise on January 1st does not make up for a 25% raise in insurance premiums effective that same January 1.
