Pros

Great benefits. The campus is beautiful and we have pretty good IT equipment. The holidays are good. Love the fact we get MLK day off. Not many companies recognize this as a holiday. Profit sharing is awesome. Change to vesting as schedule is nice for 401k and profit sharing. You are fully vested after 3 years used to 7 years which was ridiculous. Nice to see corporate can make some tough decisions and get rid of dead weight like in HR and Marketing. Hope there can be more decisions done in the future.

Cons

Wish we had more sick time. We only get 5 days. 2 weeks would be nice. Communication is getting better but needs to improve. Corporate is too involved in daily things like promotions and some hiring decisions so things slow down because of this. Career path is ok. You have to make your own. Would be nice if there was a budget for employee recognition activities. A lot of managers have to pay for this out of their own pockets. I feel bad as Esri isn't to competitive salary wise but if you have a good manager they recognize the importance and they do it. But would be nice if the company had a budget for this. Merit increases are low. Expect 3% - 4%. To get large pay increases you have to get promoted or threaten to leave.

Pros

Relaxed environment, campus is very nature friendly. Esri does a lot of humanitarian things that help the environment, as well as great work with non-profits that help the world. Great offices, most have individual offices, vs. a cube.

Cons

Weird review process, very much "good old boys" network. Very few women in Senior Management. Lack of visibility into organization charts. Actually there are no org charts. Very silo'ed approach with Corporate.

We appreciate your feedback. This year we will be introducing a new performance management system company-wide so our review process is consistent among all divisions. This will be a tremendous tool in helping employees be successful and continue to grow. It’s true that Esri’s organizational structure is flat; we find that it provides a more collaborative approach to getting things done and gives employees the opportunity to work in an open-door environment. If you feel you are no longer challenged in your role, we encourage you to talk with your manager about taking on new projects.

Good people and company culture. Little autonomy or career advancement.

Pros

Great benefits, beautiful campus, friendly people and nice company culture. Company is also very stable.

Cons

Corporate is way too involved in the day to day operations of the organization. They should trust management to make key decisions. Everyone is expendable; even if you put your all into what you do, it really doesn't matter.
