Pros

Resume - like any early-stage start-up, you join because you hope that the start-up will "make it big", paying off fiscally and for your career. Within the next 6 months, there's a decent chance that joining this company will put you in a rarefied position (think Uber post Series B). A lot of people say that about their company, but I've never seen business factors and outside environment align in such a way for one company before.

Cons

No work/life balance - This is a direct result of external business factors, not a company culture decision. If you don't like building process as you go, you won't like this.

Pros

None. Stay away from EW. Far far away.

Cons

This is the most toxic environment I've seen. Inexperienced, incompetent and defensive leadership building a culture of fear.

Greetings. I am really saddened to read your review. I started this company to disrupt an industry and help people, which can’t be done without making Everlywell a great place to work. According to our employees, your experience is not indicative of life at Everlywell. We are still a small enough organization that I know every employee personally, and I am hurt that you did not feel comfortable letting me or the People team know we had work to do. I’d love to change that, even though your employment has passed. We conduct 2x per year anonymous employee feedback surveys along with other programs that show that the vast majority of our employees would strongly recommend Everlywell as a place to work. Our latest 2020 CultureAmp anonymous survey had 75% of respondents giving us the highest rating recommending us as a great place to work, and 95% of respondents saying they are “proud to work for Everlywell” -- despite the open acknowledgement that workload has certainly increased amidst the pandemic as we ramp to match our growth with resources. We are most certainly not perfect and constructive feedback is helpful since it provides us the opportunity to be better. If you have any additional feedback, we'd love to hear it - you can always reach out at people@everlywell.com. I recently hired our first executive-level people leader who has experience rapidly scaling organizations with amazing award-winning cultures. As we double our company size and well surpass $100M in sales this year (plus try to do this all remotely!), we need a people leader who can help our managers and teams scale effectively. With that hire, we are also investing in building a world-class talent function along with ramping up our support of managers with training and coaching. We’ve also hired 30 people in the last two months and have a significant number of job openings to help us manage our rapid growth. I’d personally love to hear from you directly on how we could have made your experience better. I’d truly value knowing how we could have served you better while employed with us. I hope you’ll use this opportunity to reach out and have a conversation directly with me. Best, Julia

Pros

There aren't enough managers and execs to leave overly positive reviews against the truthfully negative ones left by all the fleeing employees.

Cons

How would you feel seeing your co-workers feeling depressed, anxious, oppressed, scared, lied to, alienated, ignored, and unappreciated? Do you really want to be a good fit for that culture? Rhetoric around the company mission is heavy and alluring. Talk to former employees on linkedin, and read recent glassdoor reviews to find what it's really like working here.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, although I am saddened that you did not share it while you were still with us. Transparency was one of my primary objectives when I first started this company, which is why we have so many mechanisms for employee feedback in place, including several anonymous ones. I want to assure anyone reading along that we conduct anonymous employee feedback surveys twice a year that show that the vast majority of our employees would strongly recommend Everlywell as a place to work. In fact, our latest anonymous survey had 75% of respondents giving us the highest rating recommending us as a great place to work, and 95% of respondents saying they are “proud to work for Everlywell”. It sounds like you had a challenging experience working here at Everlywell, and I agree that the last few months have been tough for many of us, first as we worked furiously to preserve employee jobs without pay cuts or furloughs, then as we worked to meet the intense demand for our products as the pandemic continued around us. We’ve ramped hiring as fast as we can, but the last few months have been challenging - there’s no getting around that. These aren’t meant to be excuses but hopefully they help explain the tension and difficulty that you experienced. We aren’t perfect, but we *are* working as hard as we can to make life better for our employees. We’ve hired 30 people in 2 months and are hiring more than a dozen more soon. We’re also getting our teams more resources, more managers, more coaching, training and support to help lighten everyone’s load and get us back to something we’re passionate about: building a really good culture. We’ve hired a new executive-level People leader who has a track record of growing startups our size while building awesome places to work. And we have increased opportunities for employees to engage with leadership and each other while continuing to prioritize feedback of all kinds, including anonymous feedback, despite the work from home situation. It would be great to hear more specific feedback about how we could improve so we can be better. Please feel free to contact our new People team at people@everlywell.com. Best, Julia Founder and CEO
