Pros

I am working on the most impactful challenge of my career! The company’s mission to make lab testing accessible, affordable and insightful is incredibly powerful. The CEO/Founder is truly passionate about solving healthcare gaps and was motivated to start Everlywell from personal experience. Julia is tremendously committed to ensuring Everlywell will be around to help people for years to come. The leadership team, a bit maligned, in a small handful of reviews, is strong. Yes, they can be intense and have very high standards but they aren’t political, passive/aggressive, or rude. They are candid and direct, which doesn’t work for everyone. I appreciate leadership that holds me accountable and pushes me to deliver great work. I prefer the more business-like culture of Everlywell vs. the all fun and games “start-up” expectation. The people that work at Everlywell are smart, motivated, and supportive of each other. Tremendous focus on the consumer. The CX team is one of the very best I have ever seen in action and positively impacts people’s lives every day! Last, I would caution against people who tell you positive reviews are fabricated. That just isn’t true and echos through the more bitter/disgruntled reviews.

Cons

Hiring managers need to do a better/more thorough job with the interview and hiring process. Everlywell isn’t the right place for everyone. That is not a judgment on the people that are successful vs. those that aren’t. It is the job of leadership to ensure that everyone that starts at Everlywell understands the expectations and I think there were misses here. For example, if you want a 9-5 job, Everlywell isn’t the right fit for you. If you aren’t comfortable being pushed on your strategy or decisions (especially by women), Everlywell isn’t the right for you. The company grew too fast in 2019 and there was too much turnover because they didn’t get hiring right the first time. I believe, leadership made the right moves to terminate some roles in Q4, but turnover is always distracting and can be demotivating.

Pros

Strong mission Founded by a woman Talented and hardworking coworkers from strong backgrounds Downtown Austin office (note: parking is NOT included in the benefits package and can become very expensive)

Cons

I don’t feel the need to reiterate what has already been said. My advice is to read the recent reviews to gain a clearer picture of what it is like to work at Everlywell (as other have noted, it appears the most recent positive reviews have been fabricated and posted to help mitigate the poor rating but that is up to the interviewee to discern) or reach out to past and present employees via LinkedIn. I will address one thing: the replies to the recent reviews state, “working at a start-up is hard” and it is absolutely the case but it is no excuse for treating people poorly, which is very much a reality at EW. In my experience, they will get you very excited to start only to treat you like a nobody as soon as you arrive. They will say that the company is in “high-growth mode” but great employees are voluntarily leaving or getting fired left and right - the highest turnover I have seen at any company that I have worked for.

Hello! Thank you for your feedback. We want to assure you that to our knowledge, no reviews on this page have been "fabricated". Glassdoor has several mechanisms in place to ensure that all reviews posted on this platform are real. In fact, data from our annual anonymous employee surveys (which rate Everlywell's employee promoter score (NPS) at 76/100 or higher with a 100% response rate) indicate that if anything, the number of negative reviews on this page are not supported by the extensive data we have about employee satisfaction from our actual employees. That said, we take all feedback seriously since it gives us a chance to be better. If you're willing, please share any specific experiences you had with people@everlywell.com so we can continue to improve our culture for all.

Pros

- Career advancement for those who seek it - Team Environment for those who support peer engagement - Very refreshing to have solid women leadership for once

Cons

- Some of the younger population seem entitled to more than their resume supports and this is problematic and a turn off for seasoned workers (maybe an Austin issue?) - The career jump employees (folks with a reputation to change job every year) cause problems for continuity. Perhaps HR should focus on hiring engineers that have demonstrated loyalty at previous companies.
