Pros

There aren't enough managers and execs to leave overly positive reviews against the truthfully negative ones left by all the fleeing employees.

Cons

How would you feel seeing your co-workers feeling depressed, anxious, oppressed, scared, lied to, alienated, ignored, and unappreciated? Do you really want to be a good fit for that culture? Rhetoric around the company mission is heavy and alluring. Talk to former employees on linkedin, and read recent glassdoor reviews to find what it's really like working here.

Thank you for sharing your feedback, although I am saddened that you did not share it while you were still with us. Transparency was one of my primary objectives when I first started this company, which is why we have so many mechanisms for employee feedback in place, including several anonymous ones. I want to assure anyone reading along that we conduct anonymous employee feedback surveys twice a year that show that the vast majority of our employees would strongly recommend Everlywell as a place to work. In fact, our latest anonymous survey had 75% of respondents giving us the highest rating recommending us as a great place to work, and 95% of respondents saying they are “proud to work for Everlywell”. It sounds like you had a challenging experience working here at Everlywell, and I agree that the last few months have been tough for many of us, first as we worked furiously to preserve employee jobs without pay cuts or furloughs, then as we worked to meet the intense demand for our products as the pandemic continued around us. We’ve ramped hiring as fast as we can, but the last few months have been challenging - there’s no getting around that. These aren’t meant to be excuses but hopefully they help explain the tension and difficulty that you experienced. We aren’t perfect, but we *are* working as hard as we can to make life better for our employees. We’ve hired 30 people in 2 months and are hiring more than a dozen more soon. We’re also getting our teams more resources, more managers, more coaching, training and support to help lighten everyone’s load and get us back to something we’re passionate about: building a really good culture. We’ve hired a new executive-level People leader who has a track record of growing startups our size while building awesome places to work. And we have increased opportunities for employees to engage with leadership and each other while continuing to prioritize feedback of all kinds, including anonymous feedback, despite the work from home situation. It would be great to hear more specific feedback about how we could improve so we can be better. Please feel free to contact our new People team at people@everlywell.com. Best, Julia Founder and CEO

Pros

- Free parking. - La Croix and Snacks. - Potentially good for entry-level employees -- e.g. first job out of college

Cons

- Very high employee turnover, especially considering such a small team. (12+ in less than a year) - CEO has openly stated that if 50% of hires work out that's considered success. - Inexperienced leadership across all departments. Several serve as director's over departments of which they lack any professional experience. - Extremely competitive space with new competitors emerging on a weekly basis. - Nothing proprietary about lab testing methodologies or the platform itself. - Below average salaries and equity.

Pros

Coworkers are great. The average employee is great. All people who mean well, want to help others succeed, and joined because they thought they were joining a company who cared. Benefits are good and include a mental health plan.

Cons

Where to begin? Leaders who don’t know what they’re doing, and use endless corporate jargon to “answer” questions, even though they’re clearly avoiding the question or are simply in over their head. Out of nowhere, the company started making profitability seemingly the most important company goal, which resulted in numerous incredibly talented people and entire teams getting laid off throughout the year. Laying people off doesn’t solve the problem of not being able to make a profit- it just makes your books look better for investors. Some leaders are just straight up rude or ignore you when you ask them to do something that’s part of their job. Countless people are choosing to leave because they’re fed up with the shady return to office policy, lack of accountability from leadership, and overall lack of progress. Avoid at all costs.
