Pros

The people really cared about the company and each other. Many employees stayed for their entire careers. There were many ways that employees were able to get involved in groups that helped enrich the workplace environment. The company treated safety and environmental complI ancestors in high regard.

Cons

Eversource was a great place to work pre the "merger of equals". Once the deal closed and golden parachute of Chuck Shivery was fully deployed, NSTAR leadership decimated all the Northeast Utility management and suppressed the awesome culture as described above in Pros. The main goal of the company became a reduce costs game and that is why customers see many more contractors conducting work on the infrastructure in a slow manner. The upbeat employee engagement is absent and people are retiring (or being forced to retire, like the former CFO who roast the ranswer of NU from intern to CFO pre merger) in massive numbers. This is creating a brain drain and forcing younger and/or newer employees to pick up the slack. In turn, these younger/newer employees are leaving for greener pastures (no more pension in place to reward folks for staying their entire career). This has created a never ending new hire and exit interview cycle at the company. Many people on glass door touted the pay was good here. Since I've left I gave seen my salary rise nearly 20% for the same work. I hope the "right sizing" required post merger is completed soon (it's been almost four years of post merger of equals uneasiness). I really loved working there for 7 years and would like to return someday but not as the company currently stands.

Pros

Decent hours but benefits cut every year; regular people trying their best in face of really stupid senior management decisions

Cons

Awful morale, incompetent leadership, bad decision making, constant funding cuts to make wall st happy and outsourcing. People are told straight up -- if you don't like it then leave
