Pros

- Went through rapid, organic growth due to attractive products and satisfied customers. - Very intelligent and hard-working employees. - Very intelligent and hard-working senior management, too.

Cons

- Has focused on growth to the exclusion of process and infrastructure, leading to failed deployments and client grumbling. - They will review you just before your equity vests, and they are looking for an excuse to get rid of you. - Middle management layer has been hired from outside (mostly) with little senior oversight. - No interest in career development or retention. If you aren't providing value today, they'll fire you, regardless of what you did yesterday or what you could do tomorrow with a little help. - Morale has plummeted in the last year.

Pros

The company is full of people who are very good at what they do and are extremely motivated to deliver valuable, quality work. As a workplace, it is flexible and has great work-life balance as long as you're able to deliver.

Cons

There are some growing pains as the company transitions from early startup into a more mature company, but everyone is actively working to smooth this natural transition out.

Pros

EIQ has the highest level of technical talent I've seen at any NYC-based startup (pre late stage), and certainly in the upper decile of startup technical talent in the country. Before joining, I was conflicted because I wanted the impact and ownership of a startup, but also a high density of colleagues I could learn from. I thought the latter was typically only available at big tech, but I was wrong. EIQ delivers opportunity for impact, ownership and learning from your super intelligent peers on a daily basis. The company is doing extremely well with high YoY growth and no signs of stopping. Equity might actually be worth something here given 1) a rapidly growing business and 2) mature founders who prioritize minimizing dilution over taking hypey, unreasonably large valuations! Pay is very solid (probably part of the reason we're able to attract incredible talent). The hours are humane (typically done by 6-7), but the days are high intensity (in a fun, startup way). Leadership is highly focused, no-frills, approachable and trusting of EIQ's employees.

Cons

Individual teams could have a stronger opinion on coordinating in-person work in NYC. Meaning, I go into the office once or twice a week and enjoy mixing with colleagues from across the company, but it could be better if my team agreed on certain days we'd all be there in person (to facilitate collaboration).
