Poor Executive Leadership

Business Outlook

Pros

Good Pay. Plenty of Work.

Cons

Calvin Butler appears to be well-aligned and engaged; however, the executive reporting beneath him who oversees the DC area has developed a reputation as a bully. Many employees seem intimidated by his leadership style and operate more out of fear than collaboration. The company has also experienced significant leadership turnover, with several leaders brought in and then pushed out under questionable or unclear explanations.

Thank you for taking the time to share your perspective. We are glad to hear that you value Exelon’s compensation package and your work. We also appreciate your candid feedback regarding leadership consistency and employee experience. Creating an environment rooted in respect and collaboration is a priority, and feedback like yours helps us identify where improvement may be needed. We also understand that leadership transitions can be challenging, and while change is sometimes necessary, we recognize that it can have a disruptive impact on teams. We encourage all employees to raise concerns through the appropriate internal channels so they can be reviewed objectively and addressed directly. We are always looking at ways we can strengthen leadership development, reinforce expectations around professional conduct, and ensure leaders at all levels are supported and accountable.
