Do Not Work for ECI

Pros

The pros: Issued a take home vehicle, decent hourly pay rate, allotted time for paid k9 training, schedules are somewhat decent.

Cons

I should have listened to the little voice inside my head telling me something is NOT RIGHT with this company and it’s owner. The owner has huge trust issues and will spread lies about you in order to get what she wants. She is very controlling and micromanaging. She will smile at your face one moment and talk behind your back the next. She obviously has knowledge of k-9 work but has never worked a dog herself. Don’t expect any sort of “job security” because if she decides she doesn’t like you... you’re as good as gone. And she will fabricate whatever issues she needs to in order to see you out the door. I’ve heard horror stories from other past employees including harassment, law suits, workplace discrimination, sexual harassment and intimidation. I have also personally seen her call one of her employees an idiot to her face and made her cry. There are plenty of great and very professional companies out there that specialize in private k-9 work and this is NOT one of them. Run away. Run far far away.

Pros

ECI is a great place to jump-start your career after the military or if you've recently retired, it'll be the easiest stress-free job you'll have. All the employees at ECI are all former Military, making the transition easier if you're just getting out. With a take-home vehicle and company credit card to pay for gas and all expenses for the dog, all you have to do is show up and do your job. You also may have the option to travel but that's a decision that's completely up to you. We have many locations across the country that may be available for you to either work at or visit for training. Last but not least, bonuses are given out to those who go above and beyond their normal duties, both quarterly and annually.

Cons

If you end up working in the D.C. area, the hours can be long. So, if you don't mind working an easy job, collecting multiple hours of overtime, then you'll be fine.

Thank you, the team members we are trying to attract and retain, do consider this "easy work" but that is because those team members are squared away! If you excelled while in the military and will bring that work ethic to us, we would love to have you, and you will find it to be easy work!

Pros

Not working there is a pro and Megan is a pro at having her own reviews written until screwing over the next person.

Cons

The owner is a manipulative liar with no training or handling experience. It's embarrassing to be not only talked down to and lied to but micro managed by someone who is so unqualified and clueless.

Glassdoor prevents people from leaving any identifiable information. Please write to them asking that post should not be allowed if anonymous. I would definitely support that. Then I would not have the same 4 disgruntled x employees writing post!
