No support and little appreciation

Pros

Not much to report as the company is looking out for the bottom line and could care less about the employees.

Cons

After the company decided to go public they cut jobs and would only allow part time hiring to avoid paying healthcare. They do not give promotions and company values are very one sided. Work and life balance is very tipped, expecting 24/7 . Regional sales staff do not believe in what they sell and are doing it just to keep their jobs. Initiatives are a joke and very expensive to market. Best to spend it on hiring more property staff and give back hours to do sales and work to bring business in.

Pros

This company has a great CEO Mr. Jim Donald, he is always in touch with GMs. His every morning words of wisdom not only motivate hotel staff but also show how much he wants best for guests.

Cons

There are few problems which I share with my Divisional Manager and I wish this company fix them.

Pros

The pay is decent and the work is not too challenging. Some days there are a lot of down time and some days not so much. The managers were very good and were always willing to answer questions. This job greatly improved my customer service skills.

Cons

The people can be quite annoying and unlike other hotels a lot of them will be staying there for a long time. Also the management is not given a lot of money to use on hotel improvements so sometimes the rooms can be a little run down. The corporate offices don't really seem to understand what we are doing on the lower levels and constantly undermine us when we make decisions by giving customers whatever they want when they complain.
