Pros
If the location is represented by a union then it will minimize the authority of the terrible managers that run their locations. Seriously, the terrible managers undermine everything positive that this company offers.
Cons
- Terrible and incompetent managers who lie, cheat, and play favorites. - No job security whatsoever if there isn't a union representing the workers. - Example: I literally had one manager who was playing favorites with people from his original country of origin. Gave gifts on the company dime to them and no one else. Screwed over other workers he didn't like by cutting their hours. - Terrible communication. - Terrible overall ability to run a lounge. - Example: One employee is openly racist against South East Asian and Far East Asian guests and when called on it to the managers and HR they do absolutely nothing about it. This employee openly stole from their coworkers, when called on it? Nothing happened. - Upper management will target people who speak against the toxic workplaces they create and then try to get you fired for absolutely nothing. - Human Relations is not your friend. Do NOT trust anyone who claims to help you from that department. They will target you if you speak up about workplace issues. AVOID WORKING FOR THIS COMPANY, it's not worth it.
