Crumbling systems and crushing workload create stress
Pros
Lovely views of downtown's waterfront.
Cons
"Crass, partisan, and performative brute-force politics." Borrowed from the Brennan Center for Justice's, The Briefing. It succinctly captures my experience working for FBB's Legacy Brands. Crushing Workload: Responsible for (6) brands, some with different Body Standards and Grade Rules. Browzwear's VStitcher was cancelled, so blocks are .dxf patterns w/o images known only by their descriptions. Fit/Proto/Pre Production Samples are not measured by TD's in NY. The vendor measurements are accepted. PLM system is decades old and fails often. Upper Management advised that we should revert to Excel to maintain the corporate calendar. Gaslighting - (1) of many examples, 9/19 I asked if freelancers were available to help me. Upper Management replied, "no, they are busy helping the other two TD's. " 9/22 Upper Management's email to me: "you placed us in a predicament with the CA merchant team with late development. I've asked time and time again if you're not able to meet the deadline speak up but you didn't yet again." The hybrid schedule sounds great until you realize that it is an ever changing calendar with the expectation that you are available 24/7 and will be asked to come into the office as late as the morning of a WFH day.
