Pros

The work culture and pay in my department looks to be very fair. Management genuinely cares about employees and the work life balance is great (unlimited PTO). The business is growing very quickly, so there is legitimate room for growth.

Cons

There are people across the org that do complain about pay, so I will acknowledge that other departments may not pay as well as mine. Additionally, the company needs to work on more DEI within upper management/executive leadership.

Pros

FanDuel is performing extremely well, which is good for morale and makes it fun to work every day. Working in sports & betting is a plus.

Cons

FanDuel is growing rapidly with a very high % of employees starting in the past year. Because most people are remote, it is difficult to know your colleagues. You'd be surprised at how little most employees know about gambling.

Pros

This is a young company where everybody have a clear path for internal growth. The guidelines for promotions and the evaluation criteria are well stablished and are public for all the Engineering group. Also the majority of the senior managers and principals are engineers, which makes it easier for technical engineers in the front line to talk the same argot when situations arise. Great workplace if you are looking to learn about cutting edge technologies. Specially in the mobile and cloud aspect. Also the directors communicate with everybody and talks clear about the company situation.

Cons

Because it’s a young company that’s transitioning from small to large size, you will find young managers who needs to polish their management skills and evaluate the project's proposal coming from a down-up direction before committing. Very informal processes for kicking off big projects and creates conflicts and give room for other inconveniences. Also the principals are technicals who prefer to get their hands dirty rather than creating a roadmap for the team. This is slowly changing though.
