Deception and Layoffs

Pros

- Smart people - Interesting products and problem space to work on - Great place to work if you love sports - Great benefits and work travel - Great work life balance

Cons

- Below market rate for pay in tech - Our CEO and department president said their would be no layoffs, yet my entire team was blindsided by layoffs out of nowhere - Very little stability, transparency, and trust with leadership within the Product team. - FanDuel operates in a highly regulated market; if states are slow to legalize or decide to raise taxes, this leads to extreme turbulence the firm has little control over.

Pros

Benefits are great. That's the only thing keeping majority of us here.

Cons

FanDuel stated pto was unlimited, now it is flexible as agents fight for days off and now it has to be approved by managers. If you start in this position you will more than likely stay there. The company does everything to keep you in that position. We have to learn new things constantly and no promotions and no increase in our pay. The shift bidding is every 6 weeks as if we don't have families and lives outside of the job. They do not care about us.

Pros

Benefits are great - 100% paid for Percentage of gym membership covered Unlimited PTO Flexible with working from home Casual/laid-back work environment People are fun Fully stocked kitchen with snacks/drinks/beer Sports ticket allotment

Cons

Grew too fast - no reason that a company of this size needs a 50+ marketing team so there are a lot of people trying to do the same thing; not enough clarity around what everyone's roles/responsibilities are Offices in multiple locations that are very disconnected from one another Extremely slow engineering team - takes at least a month to see even the smallest changes implemented Promotions without raises Negative media attention causes uncertainty around job security
