Pros

Catered lunches twice a week, great core group of co-workers, benefits/PTO are great.

Cons

Up until 2013, Fandango was a phenomenal place to work. The site was consistently updating and innovating mobile and desktop technology. The atmosphere and environment was very worker-friendly. Then NBC Universal, the parent company decided to hire former Disney Interactive president Paul Yanover as president of Fandango. Set on leaving his mark on the company, Paul fired a good majority of the people working at Fandango across all departments and gradually brought in his old Disney buddies to help him slowly tear apart the company. The focus also switched from being a tech company to one that was producing and distributing original video content across various NBC networks - an endeavor that is costing the company A LOT of money. Paul became obsessed with changing the company from a place to buy movie tickets and look up showtimes to a site that "fulfilled the complete movie-going experience." He's also very hands-on with whatever you're working on, has no filter with the way he speaks (the amount of in-office cursing and harassment increased when he and his buddies came into office) and he can be very smug and abrasive. But enough about Paul. Other issues - incompetent HR department, a cluttered desktop design that PR & studio execs have quietly voiced their displeasure with and a lack of opportunity to advance. Once you're hired for a job, you're pretty much stuck with that job.

Pros

People are amazing, the tech team is really smart and we get to work on cool technologies. My manager really cares about the work I'm doing and my career path. People here keep pretty normal hours. The perks are fun, the kitchen is filled with food and they bring lunch in twice a week. There are a lot of parties and celebrations.

Cons

Sometimes upper management doesn't understand that quality code takes some time. We need better communication.
