Good company but misguided middle management

Pros

Good benefits, decent pay and great 401K match

Cons

A VERY political culture that often stifles innovation and becomes toxic at times. Also, "flexible work options" are available depending on who you are and how your manager feels about it - so not very flexible

Pros

Great pay and benefits. Very good people for colleagues.

Cons

Knowledge is siloed within business units which are resistant to giving up autonomy. There is a 50/50 chance you will get a progressive manager versus the old Fannie Mae hierarchy. I had several managers that talked of empowerment and collaboration but were defacto authoritarians.
