Pros

Can't think of any other than you're getting paid some monetary value. May not be what you think you're worth, but you're getting something.

Cons

The agency program is so disappointing that I have to joke about it to keep from crying. I came into the Reserve agent program with 8 other potential agents and I was the last one to leave the company because I was afraid that I wouldn't be able to have that same freedom to take my daughter to the doctor or take her to get ice cream on Friday afternoons. Boy oh boy was the kid wrong.....I'm making more money selling insurance independently and I have more reasons to take my daughter out for ice cream and not worry about missing a call.

Pros

The only good thing about working for Farmers is the pay. However, what good is to have money when you don't have time to spend it and are becoming depressed.

Cons

If you work for Farmers in the Liability Claims Department, YOU WILL NOT HAVE A LIFE. Management expects you to meet some ridiculous #s. And even if these #s are met, you are still at risk that you will lose your job. The most tenured direct adjusters, have been in the company for less than 2 yrs. Additionally, there is alot of favoritism, and if you are not on their list, then you will never be recognized even if you are doing a GREAT job. They will however, pick at all of your flaws-they will make you feel like YOU CANNOT PERFORM YOUR JOB!

Pros

There are a wide variety of different departments in which to work. Each department uses a slightly different skill set. Some are more customer oriented while some are more numbers oriented. Farmers also provides a fairly decent amount of time off work and relatively little explanation for the time off. If you have the time in your bank, it's yours to use.

Cons

The majority of positions requires an extremely high amount of self motivation. You had better be organized and ready to work hard. Most of the time, there seems to be insufficient time to complete the tasks provided. (however, that seems to be par for the course at most jobs)
