      Farmers is solid company with many opportunities.

      Pros

      Farmers provides excellent opportunities to move both upward and laterally for someone who is motivated to do so. I have had the chance to do a variety of jobs while keeping the benefits of staying with one company. The profit sharing plan adds nearly 20% to my annual income and with the pension has provided security in regard to my retirement.

      Cons

      Farmers has not historically been very innovative, and many of its processes are outdated. This seems to be improving, however. Salary increases are governed by forced distribution, meaning high contributors are not always appropriately compensated. The expectations in order to get a really significant increase seem unreachable.

      Pros

      Maybe the benefits, but they aren't worth what you have to give up.

      Cons

      At the risk of sounding disgruntled, just about everything. They will never staff departments with enough employees and at the same time they will make those that are there working hard feel like they aren't working hard enough. NEWSFLASH, if everybody is unhappy, and everybody is not doing a good job that either says management isn't doing their due diligence in hiring new employees or you are severely understaffed. Good, honest, hardworking employees can't all be bad. Upper management would have you think so.
